Backwoods Cigars were introduced in the US in 1981 and became a bestseller. Today, they are also considered one of the most successful brands in the flavored cigar segment in the EU. Previously available in four flavors, the cigars, produced in the Dominican Republic, have been offered in the EU since 2010 in the two most popular flavors: Caribe (formerly Wild Rum) and Authentic (formerly Aromatic).
 They represent a simple, authentic smoking experience. Their distinctive, cool appearance is designed to look as if they rolled themselves. The filler consists of a blend of imported tobacco from various countries. The tobacco is wrapped in a 12-month-aged Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco leaf, which gives the cigar a particularly smooth and pleasant flavor. The cigar is made from 100% natural tobacco. An airtight package containing five cigars was specially developed to preserve the moisture content and freshness of the Backwoods cigars.
